While I should call this day one of Operation S.A. (which stands for smaller ass), I actually started this mission on June 1. HOWEVER, after much peer pressure from my friends (also known as stalkers) this is day one of my new improved blog about my journey to achieve holy galactic single digit sizes.
First, a word about how I am carrying out my mission..I am on a fabulous, super easy program, in which I eat six meals a day, don't have to exercise til a lung pops or until I burst a hamstring, I get a FREE- AMAZING health coach and I average a loss of four pounds per week. You can find the program at www.GetSkinny4Good.com. (Yes, Krystal, my coach, paid me to say all that....just kidding, the program really is all I said it was and Krystal is amazing.) (Okay, maybe she paid me to say the amazing part.)
Anywho...I started the program, as I mentioned June 1. I was on it whole hog after watching my coach and bestie literally disappear before me. I rocked it, UNTIL about Sept. 10, since then I have been half-assing it and I am hoping by blogging about my experiences I can motivate myself to get back on track. As of today, well technically Tuesday, which is my weigh in day, I have lost 43 pounds. I was up to 48, but due to my obsession with pasta, I gained five back. More than the pounds lost, I am wearing sizes that I have not seen since prior to having my son, who is almost 14. I have been able to buy shirts that are simply large, not XL or even 2XL. I no longer pop Advil like they are M&M's due to the headaches I had from eating crap and my fat ass can actually run 1 mile. (Disclaimer: This ass does not run, in fact I have often said if someone were chasing me with a knife I would stop and take my chances with the blade because the run would surely do me in.)
One would think with all of these positives, staying on track until I hit my goal would not be a problem. Well, tell that to the bowl of pasta salad in my refrigerator and the deep dish Chicago style pizza that will be calling my name when we visit the Windy City. While part of me wants to keep on Operation S.A. and continue to see a smaller ass, evidently there is still a part of me that just doesn't care and that's the part of me I have to work on right now. I KNOW how to do this, I KNOW what to eat, when to eat it and why I am eating it. I KNOW what to avoid and I KNOW how to see positive results on the scale, getting myself to DO it, is another issue. One would also think that after watching a parent have a heart attack and go through angioplasty, knowing that heart disease is hereditary, staying on track would be easier, but at times, it's just not so.
So, here I am, day one of my blog, day one of re-commitment to Operation S.A. I have several things motivating me. 1) My husband and I are going to Mexico in December. I have a pair of white cut-off shorts that I purposely purchased a size too small. I WILL wear them in Mexico and they WILL look good. (Another disclaimer....I can get them on and get them buttoned without having to lay down on the bed or enlist the help of a pliers, but they are not at all "wearable in public.") 2) The heart health clinic at the hospital where they take your cholesterol, blood sugars, etc for way cheap is in February. While I have no idea where they currently sit, I want the results to be positive, because while I call this Operation Smaller Ass, it really is about more than that. 3) I want to hit my goal by the time I turn 34, which is in January, which is totally doable. 4) "Krystal's Girls" are committing to the running of the 5K at next year's July 4 road run. I WILL run it and I WILL be concerned about my time and I WILL finish ahead of the walkers. 5) Some of us are having a challenge for the next month to help us get back on track...there is $140 up for grabs, Christmas is coming and mama wants some skinny jeans.....I WILL win that challenge.
Now for the second part of this blog, recipe and other blog share: Stalker friends....the blog I adore is blogspot.escapefromobestiy.com, learn it, love it, live it.
Peanut Better Cookies
1 pkg PB soft serve
1 pkg maple brown sugar oatmeal
1 T sugar free syrup of your choice, I've used caramel and chocolate both
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup water
Mix adding the water slowly, so it forms a thick cookie dough, drop by large spoonfuls on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes or so. Makes 4 large cookies, 2 meals and is a good way to get rid of the soft serve, which while okay, is more of a pain in the ass than its worth. The cookies are soft and chewy, but have a better consistency than the oatmeal muffins, which to me are nasty. ENJOY!
